Full time MBA programme

The University of Brighton has been offering its MBA course since 1986.  It is therefore one of the most experienced providers of higher management education in the UK.  The MBA is also regularly revised and updated to reflect changes in employers' expectations and needs.

We are particularly proud of our employability record.  Over recent years, 90% of new graduates hae been employed within six months of completing the MBA course.

Brighton Business School is active in business research and has a number of specialist research units.  Many of our staff provide consultanct work for local and internationallt renowned organisations.



Occupational field/ Target audience

The 12 month full time MBA course covers the key functional areas of business management before dealing with the strategic management capabilities that inform well-rounded managers with the potential for rapid carerr progression.

What makes a Brighton MBA special is the strong internatinal orientation which is particularly evident through the curricular, the diverse MBA group itself, two study visits and a Global Management forum which provides guest speakers on international business and management.

The MBA is taught in small groups promoting high interactivity and exchange of perspectives.  Brighton is an internationally recognised leader in Action Learning through small, mutually supportive learning groups.



Focus / Curriculum

The Brighton MBA focuses on management development by building the knowledge, confidence and competencies to address complex business problems in a fast changing global business environment.  The course emphasises the need for development of 'soft' as well as 'hard' management skills, promoting, for example, problem solving, communication, multidisciplinary thinking, teamwork and intercultural management skills.  In addition, consultancy and research skills are further enhanced through specialist workshops.  The elective studies offer the chance to pursue areas of special interest.  Careers planning workshops are also scheduled to develop job search skills.
